AIR / OCEAN FREIGHT RULES
International Air and Ocean freight will be billed by either the actual weight or by a thing known as “dimensional (dim) weight”. Dim weight is figured by the amount of space your shipment takes. It is figured like this, Length x Width x Height (in inches) / 166. You will be billed by the greater of these two types of weight.
For example;
The actual weight of you shipment is 150 pounds. The size of it is 3 feet (36”) x 3 feet (36”) x 2 feet (24”), this makes the dimensional weight 187 pounds; (36 x
36 x 24 = 31104, 31104 / 166 = 187).
You would be billed for 187 pounds.
Domestic
(within the United States) Airfreight is figured the same way except that you
divide by 194 instead of 166.
This is why we need the size of your items to figure out air or ocean shipments.
